DERMAL FILLERS

Restore your youthful skin tone

Plump and smooth your skin

Dermal fillers (also called lip fillers) are often confused with anti-wrinkle injections, but actually they work quite differently – by filling out lost volume, as opposed to smoothing out lines created by underlying facial muscles. As we age, our skin naturally loses its plump appearance as collagen production starts to decline. Dermal fillers restore that lost volume, giving the complexion a renewed, youthful vitality. If you’re looking for dermal fillers in Scotland, Clyde Munro’s dental professionals have the skill to create the subtle changes that make a huge difference. – gently plumping the lips and cheeks, filling out the deep lines between the nose and mouth, and also sculpting cheekbones, the nose and the chin.

Your body’s natural collagen-producing agent

Lip or dermal fillers are a synthetic form of hyaluronic acid – the collagen producing substance that occurs naturally in our bodies. The gel is injected in precisely chosen locations, depending on the results you’re after, and are especially suited to plumping lips and the areas around the mouth, nose and brow. They can even be used to re-contour the face, smoothing out unwanted bumps, for example, or creating more sculpted cheekbones or jawline.

Are dermal fillers right for me?

If you are bothered by those early signs of ageing – sunken cheeks, pronounced lines between the nose and corners of the mouth, hollow eyes or deep lines and wrinkles – dermal fillers could be the ideal solution for creating a youthful, rejuvenating complexion boost. At Clyde Munro, our experienced dentists use their aesthetic judgement and skill to create subtle, natural-looking results.

How long do the results last?

Dermal fillers are temporary – so there’s no fear of ending up with the ‘pillow face’ you might have seen on celebrities who’ve had permanent fillers. The results usually last for around six months, after which time you’ll need to come back for further treatment.

When will I start to see the changes?

You should notice an immediate change after dermal filler treatment. There is usually some swelling in the treated area, so the initial result may look fuller or more ‘plumped’ than you were expecting. The swelling usually settles within a few days, but can take up to two weeks to resolve fully.
