Dental group polish up at car wash

This weekend, dentists and firefighters polished cars instead of teeth and hosed down motors instead of fires, to raise funds for the Oral Health Foundation’s Mouth Cancer Action Month and the Firefighters Charity.
Bringing together a team of 20, Clyde Dental Practice and Clydebank Fire Station washed around 220 local cars to raise an impressive £1,569.38. The money will go towards raising awareness about mouth cancer as well as supporting the UK fire community when injured, ill or in need of psychological support.
Jennifer O’Brien, Clyde Dental practice manager said: “Mouth Cancer Action Month is a cause close to our hearts as spotting the symptoms can be a very important part of our dentists’ jobs.
“We hope to help spread the message of a campaign that could help to save lives.
“We’re proud to be working alongside local heroes who do such tough and admirable work on a daily basis and would like to thank both them and the local community for their support.”
The local Dominoes also supported the fundraising by donating 200 slices of pizza to keep energy levels high.
Clyde Dental Practice is one of 32 practices in Clyde Munro Dental Group, an entirely Scottish-based and Scottish-focused dental group. Founded by Jim Hall in 2015, with the acquisition of seven practices, it has since enjoyed rapid growth.
With further expansion planned, local practices retain the names and identities they have built over many years while enjoying the benefits of being part of a bigger group. It is building a reputation for investing in patients, communities, training and in the advances of digital dentistry.
