Muirhead Dental Care

Your modern and caring dentist in Muirhead

Muirhead Dental Care is a caring, family-friendly dental practice which has served the local community of Muirhead, North Lanarkshire since 1981. The practice was originally set up single-handedly by Eva Feeley, with the vision of providing excellent-quality dental care in a caring, family-friendly environment. Since then, it has grown from strength to strength and now has a loyal patient base that spans the generations.

Muirhead Dental Care provides both NHS and private dental care and we welcome new NHS and private patients to the practice. We offer a wide range of general dentistry, and also cosmetic dentistry, Cfast adult orthodontics and facial aesthetics. We also offer hygienist appointments to help all our patients maintain a healthy smile and learn how to build a good oral hygiene routine.

Our professional and friendly reception team are here to welcome you and give you advice and assistance. Just call or pop in at any time to arrange an appointment or ask any questions. Our aim is to provide high-quality, gentle and thorough dental care at all times to all our patients.

*Please note, all our calls are recorded for training and monitoring purposes.

We welcome new NHS and private patients

The entire team at Muirhead Dental Care believe in providing the best possible care to both our NHS and private patients. Under the NHS, we provide a broad range of treatments, including examinations, fillings, crowns, veneers, bridges, dentures, root canal treatment and scaling/polishing. We also have a wide range of private treatments to offer, including cosmetic dentistry and facial aesthetics.

Over 100 years of experience in dentistry!

Within our dental team, we have amassed over 100 years of experience in dentistry. This means we are well-practised in providing the best dental care to our patients.

The highest standards in dental care

We have invested in technology to make sure we can deliver the best service to our patients. Our practice system is fully computerised, which makes us very efficient and keeps all our patient records secure but accessible. We also use digital X-ray equipment to help us take accurate X-rays at the lowest possible radiation dose to keep our patients safe.

Eva Feeley

GDC Number: 53217

Eva graduated from North Lanarkshire Dental School in 1979. From there, she worked in a North Lanarkshire practice gaining experience in a vast range of dental procedures. In 1981, Eva decided to set up her own practice in Muirhead, not far from where she lived at the time. She worked single-handedly to build a reputation of providing quality dental care in a caring family-friendly environment.

Eva’s caring and compassionate nature is the reason that patients have stayed loyal to her for 35 years, and during those years she has had the pleasure of treating different generations of families.

In her spare time, Eva likes to play tennis and work out in the gym. She also likes nothing better than to spend time with her family – especially her grandchildren.

John Sorbie

Associate Dentist
GDC Number: 69647

John graduated from Dundee Dental School in 1993. He worked in various practices before joining Muirhead Dental Care in January 1999.

John prides himself on providing quality dental treatment and over the years this has helped to build him a large base of loyal patients. John is committed to providing the highest standard of care and thoroughly enjoys aesthetic restorative work.

At the weekends he enjoys spending time with his family and in his spare time he can be found either having a round of golf with friends or working out in the gym.

Greg Toal

Associate Dentist
GDC Number: 79280

Greg graduated from North Lanarkshire Dental School in 2001. After completing his vocational training year, he worked in various practices to gain experience in a broad range of dental procedures.

Greg joined Muirhead Dental Care in 2015 after working in another local practice for 6 years. He has a very relaxed manner which patients find very calming and reassuring, hence his popularity.

In his spare time Greg loves spending time with his wife and two young daughters. But his secret passion is carpentry; in his spare time, he can be found in his workshop at home designing and making furniture.

Susan Maley

Susan qualified as a Dental Hygienist from North Lanarkshire Dental Hospital in 1991. For years she worked in a variety of dental practices, gaining vast experience in patient care.

Susan believes it is important that patients feel at ease and are comfortable during treatment. Her main objective is to encourage the highest standard in personal dental hygiene whilst ensuring patients have a relaxing positive experience when visiting the hygienist.

Joyce Scott

Practice Director

Joyce has been working here at Muirhead Dental Care since its foundation in 1981. She has a wealth of knowledge and experience, originally as a nurse and now as a very competent and capable director of our team.

She is our “problem solver” and her help and advice given in her warm, caring manner is invaluable to both staff and patients alike.

Despite the many demands of the practice, Joyce still manages to find time to enjoy her great love of horse riding and to spend time with her expanding family.

Cannot fault the staff of this dental practice. They take every care with social distancing and the surgeries are... scrupulously cleaned after each patient. The staff wear PPE as necessary and hand sanitising is required before entry into the practice. I have no qualms about attending appointments more

From the initial contact, through to my arrival, treatment and departure, the service was excellent. Particularly... worth mentioning was that, during these exceptional circumstances, the practice was professional, cleansed in line with Covid guidelines and left me assured that everyone’s wellbeing was being adhered to. Well done to more
