Clinical Mentoring at Clyde Munro
Published: 24 November 2022
At Clyde Munro, we pride ourselves on providing a workplace that clinicians and the wider dental team love to work in. Our goal is to create an environment that fosters career progression, variety, and balance. Supporting clinician aspirations and providing pastoral support are our priorities.
Our clinical team provides regional support and advice to our dentists related to their interests through their extensive expertise. Not only does this continuously improve the quality of our service and safeguard high standards of care, but it creates an environment in which excellence in patient care will flourish.
Meet Our Clinical Support Team
As Group Clinical Director, Jacqui Frederick’s vision is to combine the best of traditional principle-led practice with the clinical opportunities afforded by the wider group model. Jacqui is well known in the Scottish dental world, having run the largest Inverclyde dental practice, been a health board practice inspector, dental adviser for PSD within NSS and a vocational trainer for over a decade. Jacqui has represented colleagues for many years as Chair of GG&C LDC and nationally as Chair of the Scottish LDC conference and been a member of the Scottish Dental Practice Committee since 2010.
The team consists of highly qualified practitioners, including:
John Cameron – previously senior dental advisor at MDDUS and PSD. With extensive dental practice regulations experience, John is a senior clinical teaching fellow, running the law and ethics programme at the University of Aberdeen Dental School. John assists with overseas candidates, particularly around GDC application and is involved in the VT equivalence programme.
Crawford Elrick has had a committed career in general dental practice working in Glasgow and Edinburgh before buying a practice in North Berwick. His interests in general practice enable him to advise on short-term orthodontics.
Angela Harkins has been a GDP for over 25 years, with many spent running her own practice. Angela worked as a dento-legal adviser and has a clinical teaching fellow role at the University of Glasgow. Within Clyde Munro, Angela provides support on clinical complaints, sedation and facial aesthetics – steering colleagues through risks and challenges.
Iain Henderson is an NES adviser for vocational training, having offered vocational training for many years at a successful general practice in Bathgate. His experience in coaching and mentoring young dentists is available to our associates. Iain also ran a successful facial aesthetics clinic and offers his experience to our GDPs looking to develop this service.
Priya Kalsi joined the team in a chairside and clinical support role. Working as a senior dental officer with The NHS Borders Public Dental Service, Priya was employed as lead clinician for special care dentistry. As head of paediatric and special care clinical development for Clyde Munro, Priya leads the establishment of a private paediatric service promoting a holistic, patient-centred model of care with the use of inhalation-conscious sedation.
Based at Glasgow Dental Hospital as a senior clinical lecturer and honorary endodontics consultant, Will McLean provides specialist private endodontic services to patients in Inverness and Perth. Will supports dentists with an interest in endo and is forming managed clinical networking for endodontics within the group.
Duncan Robertson is the clinical lead for Fairmilehead Dental Practice & Implant Centre. Having previously worked at Edinburgh Dental Hospital and School as a house surgeon and registrar, Duncan works on implant development including mentoring dentists in training.
Enhancing your Dental Career

In addition, Josh Rowley will offer the cohort a bespoke clinical day, incorporating an introduction to smile design and advanced clear aligner diagnostics and techniques. They will also be invited to a two-day offsite event, including a social evening event followed by a unique Clyde Munro clinical day.
