Duncan graduated from Edinburgh University in 1993, gaining Membership of the Faculty of General Dental Practitioners in 2002. Duncan is one of the principal dentists here at Colinton and has built longstanding relationships with his patients over the years. He has completed a year-long course in implant dentistry and has a keen interest in cosmetic dentistry. Duncan’s interests outside of dentistry are hill walking, rugby, cycling and skiing.

Suzanne graduated from Edinburgh University in 1993. Joining Colinton in 2003, she is one of the principal dentists. Suzanne has worked hard in her time here to build strong relationships with her patients and enjoys all aspects of general dentistry. Suzanne’s interests outside dentistry include running, hill walking and skiing.

Sam’s main passion is providing high-quality general dentistry, alongside aesthetic dental treatments. As such, he completed comprehensive further training with the University of Edinburgh to achieve a Diploma in Restorative Dentistry. He has also undergone additional training to provide composite bonding and tooth straightening treatments using clear aligners.

He strives to achieve the best result for each individual, whilst getting to know them in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

Originally from Northumberland, Sam completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Glasgow and has since worked in the northeast of Scotland and Edinburgh.

Outside of work, Sam is passionate about the benefits of endurance sport, training and occasionally racing cycling and ultra-running.

Karen is an experienced dental hygienist with over 28 years in the profession, having graduated from Edinburgh Dental Hospital in 1997. Her career includes working alongside dental specialists and tutoring student hygienists, reflecting her commitment to excellence and education in oral health.

She believes prevention is better than cure and treats every patient with care, empathy, and professionalism. Known for her friendly and relaxed manner, Karen is especially welcoming to nervous patients, ensuring they feel comfortable and supported throughout their visit.

Outside of work, Karen enjoys yoga, socialising, travelling, and spending quality time with her children and dog.

Alvaro thoroughly enjoys helping patiens improve thier oral hygeine. He has assisted in a periodenal treatment plan by performing deep cleanings and educating several patients on proper oral hygeine. After several sessions, the patients’ gum health improved significantly which was a very rewarding expereince. He is passionate about promoting oral health and staying updated on new techniques in dental hygeine. In his free time, he enjoys travelling, photography, and keeping an active lifestyle through fitness and wellness
