Amy grew up in Dumfries, and moved to Saudi Arabia. She trained at The University of Dundee graduating in 2009.  At University Amy attended the University of Copenhagen’s Panum institute for a semester of her final year. She also volunteered for the “East meets West’ program in Da Nang, Vietnam.

Amy’s practice focuses on orthodontics and restorative cases. She also interested in facial aesthetics treatments.

Amy enjoys cycling and paddleboarding with her two sons, and sailing with her husband in their snipe dingy.

Scott graduated with his BDS from the University of Dundee in 2006. Following a 2-year training programme in Edinburgh, having gained experience in Oral Surgery, restorative, Paediatrics, Special care Dentistry and Dental research, Scott went on to undertake an MSc in Restorative Dentistry through the University of Edinburgh as a Rural fellow, working both in Orkney and Edinburgh.

Scott then worked at the University of Otago, New Zealand as well as in General Practice in the north Island, New Zealand. Prior to establishing Orkney Dental with his wife in 2014, Scott locumed in Shetland for a summer.

Scott has been involved postgraduate education for many years – initially as a VT trainer and then as a clinical lecturer in Restorative Dentistry at the University of Edinburgh. Scott is the Chair of the Area Dental Committee and was involved in the establishment of the Local Dental Committee in Orkney.

Scott’s clinical interests lie in restorative dentistry, dental implantology and oral surgery.

Outside work Scott enjoys spending time with his wife Amy and their two young sons. Scott is a keen Sailor and enjoys spending time outdoors in the wonderful Orkney landscape.

Michelle grew up in Stromness and studied BSc Medical Sciences (Hons) at the University of Edinburgh, before going on to study for her Bachelor of Dental Surgery as a postgraduate student at the Aberdeen Dental School. During her training she did placements in Aberdeen, Elgin and Stornoway. Michelle moved home to join Orkney Dental in 2016 and can be found working in Orkney Dental Kirkwall and Daisybank.

Michelle’s special interests include complex root canal treatments and whitening cases. She is enthusiastic about continued development and staying up to date with the latest techniques and materials.

Outside of work her interests include outdoor and indoor sports, cooking, long walks around Orkney and spending time with her nieces and nephews. She is also a member of the Orkney Folk Festival committee.

has subsequently worked in Inverness before moving to Orkney, and has worked in general practice ever since.

Scott enjoys all aspects of dentistry, with a particular focus on aesthetic dentistry and the management of tooth wear and TMJ (jaw joint) disorders.

In 2017 he became a Member of the Faculty of Dental Surgery of the Royal College of Surgeons in Glasgow.  He is currently studying for a Masters in Restorative Dentistry (MSc) from the University of Birmingham, and after this looks to specialise further.

Outside of work, Scott has “walked the boards” in many local amateur dramatic productions, although he limits his pantomime dame performances to one every three years.  He also enjoys spending time with his family, dog, and two cats, exploring Orkney and the surrounding areas.

Calum graduated with his BDS from the University of Dundee in 2011.  Following on from graduating he moved up to Orkney to work for NHS Orkney for 3 years before joining Orkney Dental when it first established in 2014, and has continued his career here since.

Calum enjoys all aspects of dentistry but in particular treating nervous and anxious patients.

Outside work Calum enjoys getting on the water rowing and is part of the Orkney Rowing Club.
