Duncan graduated from Glasgow Dental School where he obtained the Board of Management prize for his work in relation to periodontal (gum) treatment. At the earliest opportunity, he completed his membership exams at the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh. He has a Diploma in dental implants from the University of Newcastle where he was placed top of his year achieving Honours. He has a keen interest in both the placement and restoration of dental implants and is also experienced in dealing with anxious patients and offers “sleep” sedation dentistry.

Duncan’s calming, friendly and cheerful nature helps put patients at ease. He strives to make sure every patient has a tailored treatment plan that meets his or her every need.

Iain studied as an undergraduate at Dundee Dental Hospital and graduated in 2001 before going on to complete his general professional training in Glasgow. 

He continued his postgraduate learning and gained hospital experience in both Dundee Dental Hospital and the Edinburgh Dental Institute for a further two years. Following his hospital based years, Iain moved into general dental practice in 2005 and has been happily practising at Fairmilehead Dental Practice for over seventeen years now. 

Out with the practice, Iain can often be found stretching his legs by either running or trying to reach the summit of a hill. 

Duncan trained in the Edinburgh Dental Hospital and School and worked in the hospital for four years as a dental surgeon and research fellow and registrar dentist. During this time he treated referred admissions for oral disease and undertook treatment and investigations for these patients.

Since setting up his new practice in Fairmilehead in 1993, Duncan has dedicated himself to delivering the very best dental care, surrounding himself with staff whom he has trained to help him achieve that goal.

His post-graduate education and training has been, and continues to be, extensive and allows him to offer patients the full range of dental treatment options currently available. Duncan plays an active role in the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in promoting high standards of clinical care for dental surgeons in general dental practice.

His special interests are focused on implant and natural tooth restorative harmony.

Alketa has almost 2 decades of experience in dentistry as both principal and associate dentist. She moved to Fairmilehead Dental Practice & Implant Centre from our sister practice in Elgin, where she had been working for almost 10 years. She has also served as a VT trainer and was actively involved in mentoring and training new dentists that enter the profession.

Alketa has a special interest in cosmetic dentistry and as an Invisalign, Suresmile and SmileFast provider, she attends regular courses to keep up to date with new developments in this field. In addition, she is a qualified medical aesthetics practitioner and offers a wide range of facial aesthetics treatments while continuing training in more advanced techniques.

As a mother of two, outside work Alketa loves spending time with her family exploring the Scottish outdoors with their family dog.
